Such a devastating and timely essay. Thank you! I will keep my eyes open for Baecker's work. Your essay hits a nerve exposed recently by the film "Zone of Interest". The horror and violence normalized by our attachment to the everyday is deeply troubling. How do we react? Our complicity stains our hands... I am often reminded of Le Guin's "The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas" and think about time spent handsetting this text and printing to share as a chapbook...
